ARMYs Call Out The 2023 GRAMMYs For Disrespecting BTS During The Nominations Announcement

At the end of 2022, it was announced that BTS had been nominated for two categories at the 65th GRAMMY Awards (2023 GRAMMYs).

The group was nominated for Best Music Video for “Yet To Come” and Best Pop duo/group performance for their collaboration track “My Universe” with Coldplay.

Although BTS didn’t win an award, ARMYs turned their energy into praising the members with the phrase “BTS ARE UNTOUCHABLE.”

Along with the anger of BTS once again being “snubbed,” fans raised anger at the disrespect shown by the event during one of the categories.

BTS was nominated for Best Music Video for their recent track “Yet To Come.” Considering how popular and meaningful the song was, it was a huge fan favorite, and the simplicity of the music video only added to the beauty of the song for ARMYs.

As expected, when the nominees were announced, ARMYs couldn’t wait to see how the event would represent the song. Yet, while all the other tracks were represented by the album that the song was on…

ARMYs noticed that BTS’s nomination for “Yet To Come,” rather than using som̾e̾t̾h ̾ing from the music video or even the group photo from the album Proof, they used a shot from the Hyundai version of the video.

The image they used came from a video that was released in 2022 ahead of the World Cup, and although it had a global meaning, it wasn’t the video that was nominated.

When the image was shown, ARMYs shared their anger toward the GRAMMYs, explaining that not only was it disrespectful but showcased a lack of willingness to do research and that it didn’t show appreciation for the members and those involved in the video.

- "Kind of suck that we adjust to their low expectations when BTS is so much bigger and better than they give them credit."

- "They didn't? It doesn't matter, they're so beyond that sad show. The Grammys are for the last century."

- "We know who won in our hearts. They never stop winning."

- "Censured the name of this awards, please focus on BTS, They intention is that we talk of they."

- "This is infuriating. So disrespectful!"
