ARMYs Are In Tears As BTS Finally Remembers The SNS Account They Neglect After Discharge

It is not wrong to say that BTS is one of the groups that rose rapidly and achieved mαѕѕive success, in part thanks to social media. Winning the Top Social Artist award five consecutive times from 2017 to 2021 at the Billboard Music Awards is no small feat.

In their early debut years, BTS clearly lacked advantages in traditional media (TV and major press outlets) as they came from a small company. However, instead of relying on those channels, the group made early use of platforms like Twitter, YouTube, and V Live to communicate directly with fans and promote themselves not only domestically but globally. Notably, beyond posting promotional content, BTS also shared everyday moments, practice behind-the-scenes footage, vlogs, as well as their own thoughts and emotions.

This sense of closeness and authenticity helped them attract a mαѕѕive and loyal global fanbase. KBS once emphasized in a news segment discussing the “secret behind BTS’s popularity” that the group is loved worldwide not only for their talent but also for their sincerity and “down-to-earth personality,” citing videos of their daily lives uploaded on their YouTube channel, Bangtan TV, as examples.

However, over time, the way the group communicates with fans has gradually changed, and many of BTS’s older social media accounts are no longer their primary means of interaction. One of them is the Twitter account @BTS_twt, which has been inactive for about 10 months.

Fortunately, after a period of being “forgotten,” BTS recently remembered it. Specifically, it was mentioned in the BTS ‘SWIM’ Dance Practice Sketch video uploaded on Bangtan TV on the 21st. At that moment, the members were watching their dance practice recording for the title track together when they suddenly burst into laughter at soмєтнing the viewers could not see on the screen. Right then, V stood up, pointed at the screen, and excitedly said to j-hope: “This, this… Let’s post this on Twitter.”

This line quickly became a meme spreading across the fandom on X, as fans were amused that a BTS member had finally remembered the Twitter account that had seemingly been forgotten for about 10 months since their military discharge. The last post on @BTS_twt is believed to have been shared by Jimin and Jungkook right before they completed their military service.

From 2013 to 2020, this Twitter account was essentially the main communication channel for all seven members on social media. It witnessed numerous record-breaking moments and preserved many iconic photos and “chaotic but memorable” stories, such as V’s “pets” photo, the birth of “Jin Hit Entertainment,” or moments of Jungkook, Jimin, and V joking around while tipsy.

Later on, as the members opened personal Instagram accounts, created individual Weverse accounts, and some even expanded to TikTok, the group account gradually became less frequently used. Nevertheless, it remains a sky full of memories for fans. Many long-time ARMYs began their journey with BTS on this platform and are still actively using it today. That is why seeing BTS still remember it brought a mix of laughter and emotional relief to fans.

Another detail that amused fans was how V still instinctively referred to X by its old name, “Twitter.” Like many others, it turns out he also cannot forget the platform’s original name. One fan jokingly commented: “So we all collectively still call it Twitter, Elon failed big time lol.”

Right after this moment spread online, fans flooded the comment sections with various amusing reactions:

- I αѕѕume they forget the pαѕѕword. X will fill the nuke account when they finally post

- They remember but they intentionally abandon this app?? We are still waiting…

- It took them 10 months to remember this forgotten child… @BTS_twt really said “so you DO remember me?”

- Can’t believe they remember this app, you know. They even started using Tiktok these days, so many apps to do

- They said TWITTER OMG so they haven't forgotten us yet. So I'll soon experience BTS twitter era?

- The 1st thing that came to my mind here "at least one of them still remembers that there's an app called twt"

- Twitter stirring at hearing its name but it went back to sleep

- When it comes to my late wife (user @BTS_twt), I don't play around. Don't you even dare.

- Taehyung remembers that they have a Twitter account, but that account is still covered in cobwebs without a single sign of activity. When guys?
