SUGA kicked off their first solo world tour since their debut on April 26 (local time). Today, SUGA really made the fans at UBS Stadium, Belmont Park go crazy with his amazing stages.
But what is more remarkable is that not only young ARMYs attended SUGA's concert, but among his fans, there were many older people. They even gave SUGA their warm support and he himself created the best memories of their lives.
An elderly female ARMY shared her feelings after returning home from his D-1 concert. She really enjoyed an epic concert after about 50 years since she first attended a concert:
On April 26, SUGA kicked off the first day of his 2 days concert at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, USA. It is known that SUGA's world tour will take place over the course of two months with a total of 9 concerts in nine cities in the United States and Asia.
During his world tour, SUGA plans to show a different side of him on stage. Through this tour, SUGA also delivers a story of the struggle between SUGA and Agust D to shape his identity in the end.
Before the concert started, SUGA shared with the press about the happiness of meeting fans again. He told: "I've been practicing hard for this solo tour," SUGA said, "I'm more relaxed than ever when preparing for a concert and I'm glad to meet you guys. Ami. I hope everyone will enjoy it cheerfully and happily."
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of ARMYs today joined in on the first day of the concert at Belmont Park in an eager mood after months of waiting. Starting the concert, SUGA brought the iconic song Haegeum - his recently released song with the album D-Day. At the end of the concert, SUGA continued to entertain fans with The Last and couldn't have had a better ending than it.
Witnessing all of SUGA's stages and careful preparation for this concert, a fan in his 70s shared his thoughts on the performance as well as ARMYs' support for him. This ARMY noted that she is someone who hasn't been to concerts since the late 70s.
Even the New York concert she saw in 1981 of The Clash - the band that created the first wave of punk rock in the UK - couldn't compare to the excitement of SUGA's concert today. She started: "Finally got home. A few take aways: 1- long time concert goer back to the late 70s, this was the loudest show I’ve ever been to, louder than the clash..."
Not only that, but she also witnessed the hard work and enthusiasm of ARMYs when she woke up early, stayed at the concert venue for hours, and even at the end stayed and sang together. She continued: "2- everyone was up before the show even started. And stayed up. We were all singing, chanting, screaming all night".
Not only that, she absolutely loves the performances performed by SUGA in D-1. She expressed: "3- Min Yoongi is incredibly charming on stage, leaving Aside his stage presence during a song, his charm in between is really somєthing. It’s clear to me that he reins it in when he’s with his six brothers a bit.
4- seriously, his command of the stage? Not to be believed. For the most part, he performs alone, & only rarely has the back up dancers. He takes that stage over, & you cannot look away from him."
She also narrated a bit about SUGA's health. During the previous day's live broadcast, SUGA mentioned that his throat was not in good shape because of the dry weather, so I hope everyone can understand if there are some minor mistakes in the performance. But today, she saw that SUGA did a great job though: "5- I know he’s sick, but his voice was fine or at least appeared to be. He was drinking a lot of water tho".
In addition, she also listed some of her strong impressions with some details in the concert. Particularly, she mentioned: "6- the live band kicks αѕѕ. 7- VCRs! 8- the stage is sparse, but honestly he doesn’t need any frills. It’s him, a Mike. Sometimes a guitar sometimes a piano. Loved the fireworks and fire though. 9 - very moving tribute to ryuichi Sakamoto. 10- I DK what u saw on the live stream, but this blew me away. Beyond"
Finally, as someone who experienced day one of SUGA's concert at Belmont Park, she offers advice for other fans. She concluded one last thing: "11- one final. If you want a reasonable chance of getting merch take full day off and get there early. By the time I was permitted in, there was very little available, even in the indoor stand."
It's amazing how much care and love an older ARMY has for SUGA. She not only attended his concert but also shared her interesting experiences with other fans.
Fandom ARMY is really a fandom that has no limits on fans, where young and old, femal or male can show their endless love for the group. Not only that, music and fandom culture has helped older people connect with the younger generation. That is really worth it and adorable!
Other fans didn't forget to leave amazing comments under the older ARMY's post:
- The Clash, we might be of the same vintage. I was watching the concert on my phone on a Thursday morning before work started due to armys sharing the vids online. It was ḅŀööďy αωєsome watching on my phone. Can't imagine the atmosphere in the arena.
- Thank you for sharing these details with those who can't attend :)
- He is beyond amazing! His stage presence is remarkable. He enjoyed interacting with ARMY. Fascinated with how the parts of the stage were slowly taken away leaving only him & the band. Cried during tribute
- Thankyou for sharing. I loved reading every word. I had a feeling he wasn't well. I hope he feels better soon. I'm glad you had so much fun
- My voice is gone.
- He did tell us it's so dry and his throat is not in the best condition, but he delivers as always. I hope he didn't push himself too hard!
- This only confirms that I have to handicap seating and that is 134340× harder than regular tickets. I can't stand for a show. It isn't possible with my disabilities. (not to diminish your experience at all! it is so vital for us to know what each other experience
- Amazingggg. Thanks for sharing!!
- Your point no 3 made me blush hard... I am no chance of recovery
- Wow! Thank you for your amazing takeaways! He is truly one of the best! I am so proud of Yoongi!
- we were so loud oh god my ears were almost bursting
