Although BTS Is Taking A Break, They Still Bear Half Of HYBE's Revenue In 2022

Perhaps many people know that BTS, together with вιg нιт Music and Bang Shi Hyuk, went through many difficulties to build the company from zero to the current Kpop empire. So, it's not hard to see that for many years now, BTS seems to be a key factor in generating revenue for the company.

Meanwhile, HYBE started growing the business by owning various labels for many years now. Even then, BTS was still responsible for half of the group's revenue with its popularity rising steadily.

Most recently, during HYBE's 2022 summary meeting, they pointed out that even when BTS enters the group's hiatus, they still account for half of the company's revenue. It shows how big the group's influence is:

HYBE has generated the highest sales since its inception due to the expansion of its global fandom and multi-brand business direction. HYBE announced today that it recorded sales of 1.778 trillion won, up 41.6% year-on-year. Operating profit increased 24.9% to 237.7 billion KRW.

Explaining HYBE's growth this year, HYBE CEO Park Jiwon explained it was due to the effective development of the multi-label system with different groups for different types of auďïệnces. Meanwhile, HYBE's groups have also achieved many high achievements on music charts, conducted world tours and many other related products.

Meanwhile, BTS has halted group activities after the eldest Jin enlisted in the army, but they still support more than half of HYBE's sales. Lee Kyung-joon, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), said, "The percentage of all artists (the rest) except BTS is around 40%". Not only that, he also mentioned that BTS-related products are still selling the most among HYBE artists.

Talking about this, the CEO of HYBE expressed, "In 2022, BTS has taken the first step towards the next chapter of becoming more mature artists." In addition, he also talked about the upcoming plans of Kpop superstars.

Park Jiwon said, "Everyone must also want to know about BTS's future plans. BTS is expected to continue to carry out individual activities as well as actively interact with fans before carrying out their duty. Jimin will release a solo album in March and starting from April, SUGA will also conduct a world tour in the US, Asia and ̾j̾a̾p̾a̾n. All the remaining members are also preparing to carry out diverse individual activities and will be announced when the detailed schedule is decided.

As desired by fans, HYBE not only supports the individual activities of each BTS member, but also prepares a plan for the group to return with full members after they complete their m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service. The company plans to fully support this.”

Through HYBE's report on what they have achieved in 2022, it can be seen that BTS is an important part of the company's revenue. Even if HYBE can almost double the profits of previous years, half of it is made up of BTS and the ARMY fandom.
