Perhaps being famous, having a successful career and being rich, they also have to trade off a lot of other things. Especially in it is the minimum respect and privacy of an individual.
On the latest program of the кσяєαn national TV channel SBS, they revealed a fact that made ARMYs extremely panicked and scared. That's when an employee of a subway company was arrested for ilℓєgαℓly accessing information and tracking RM after obtaining his database.
The problem is so serious that RM's privacy has been invaded for 3 years without even knowing it until now when the story is revealed:
In the past, ARMYs were often afraid of so-called sasaeng fans, who stalk and invade the private lives of BTS members. It used to be such a serious problem that the members themselves were affected both mentally and physically.
It was thought that those were the people who scared both fans and idols the most, but recently SBS reported on an incident that made fans and the public even more panic. That is even the employees - who have contact with or have a database of idols who have used their services or their company is also one of the scary ones.
Specifically, today, in SBS's exclusive news, they reported that an employee of a subway company named KORAIL was caught red-handed accessing their pa̾s̾senger database. to search for BTS RM's personal information, including his phone number and address. This news has shaken viewers by the severity and length of time that this person has been following RM since his news.
According to an exclusive report from SBS, KORAIL employee “A” was caught looking for RM's personal information in the company's pa̾s̾senger database. This was only discovered during an internal audit of this company after receiving a notification that an employee abused his position to exploit celebrity information.
According to the report, employee “A” not only viewed the specific ticket number RM had purchased, but also the phone number and address connected to the account RM used to register for the KORAIL website. Employee “A” began collecting RM's personal information in the database in 2019 and continues until 2021.
One example pointed out by SBS is that in January 2021, staff member “A” secretly watched RM’s itinerary for a trip from Seoul to Dong Daegu. Employee “A” viewed RM’s itinerary and personal information a total of 18 times over a three-year period. And this was done ilℓєgαℓly, but no one knew, including RM - who was followed for a long time.
At KORAIL, customers' personal information can only be accessed by authorized departments for business-related purposes. However, employee “A” worked in the IT department at KORAIL, which developed, operated, and maintained the database. As a result, Employee “A” was able to access RM's personal and account information for personal purposes.
Employee “A” was arrested after the subway company carried out an internal investigation after receiving news that an employee abused his position to review celebrity information. The informant said that employee A told an acquaintance that they were able to find out where RM was going because he knew all of the K-pop superstar's schedules.
Specifically, employee A once lied about his behavior to the declarant that: "I checked RM’s reservation details and I went to see him in person. My friend informed me where RM was sitting so that I could pick a nearby seat."
Meanwhile, after KORAIL conducted a check on this employee, they confirmed that employee "A" had access to RM's information but could not determine how widely the information spread to the public. The KORAIL Audit Committee has now recommended that the employee be suspended for violating client privacy regulations.
Even so, during the interrogation, staff "A" still stated that they only looked at RM's personal information out of curiosity. Employee A declares: "I simply looked at it because I was curious. I am reflecting on my mistakes."
However, the authorities are concerned that this person has been selling information to a third party for a period of 3 years and in addition may have committed many other acts of disclosing RM's schedule information. The matter is still under investigation to prevent more serious consequences.
Not only that, but before that, employee “A” had also revealed the personal information of a male employee on a public broadcast without prior permission, an incident that the v1ctim did not know until after the incident. SBS approached them with that information. The v1ctim said: "I had no idea, this is the first time I am hearing about this. It’s quite surprising…"
This information has raised an alarm about professional ethics as well as the importance of the confidentiality of customer information of companies.
