V enlisted on December 11, 2023 and is currently serving in the Special Task Force (SDT) of the 2nd Corps Military Police Corps in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
He has recently become a hot topic among fans after his ideal military life, including winning the first prize in shooting and receiving the exemplary sol∂ιєr award, was revealed. In particular, the compliments from V's comrades in the army further solidified his good character.
Lee Seung Min - a comrade of V in SDT Team once revealed that the BTS superstar generously donated exercise equipment and bought delicious food such as eel sushi when they were on duty outside.
"Whether it rains or snows, the time we went to work out with Sung-hyun and the time sweated in a better environment thanks to the exercise equipment you, hyung, donated are all precious memories. Also, I was so grateful for buying us a lot of delicious food when we went to PX or when we went out or stayed out overnight. Especially, I still can't forget the eel sushi that hyung bought us. It was really delicious..."
While V is generous in buying food and donating exercise equipment, there is one thing that he does not easily give to other sol∂ιєrs. That is the autograph of Kpop idols!
Another sol∂ιєr revealed the not-so-easy process of getting his autograph.
“If you write your name down on a post-it note to get an autograph from V, executive officers get five and αѕѕistant officers only get two. However, V won’t just give autographs to αѕѕistant officers”, the sol∂ιєr revealed.
He also emphasized that any αѕѕistant officer who wants to ask for an autograph from a BTS member must pαѕѕ a “test” to get an autograph!
The sol∂ιєr continued, "He makes you solve a quiz in order to get an autograph. The quiz asks questions such as, ‘What are the BTS members’ names?’ and ‘What is the title of a BTS song?’. If you get the answers wrong, he’ll link arms with other sol∂ιєrs and chase you out".
According to a source, V used this "мєтнod" after being inspired by PD Na Young Suk from similar things on variety shows to have fun with fellow sol∂ιєrs, similar to his behavior on shows like Jinny's Kitchen.
Fans laughed at V's mischievousness, which remained intact even in the military environment. On the other hand, fans also praised V's cute, friendly personality even when he is a celebrity while living in a dormitory:

V is expected to complete his military service on June 10, 2025 along with the other 4 members of the group.
Although BTS is currently serving in the military, fans' expectations are increasing as news of the members' upcoming discharge continues to be released. As interest in the group's activities increases, speculation continues to be made about when and how they will reunite after completing their military service.
