K-pop idols are often seen covering logos on their clothing, personal belongings, food, and beverages, while avoiding direct mentions of specific brands during livestreams and public appearances. Fans of Jungkook, for example, have noticed numerous occasions where the BTS star carefully concealed product labels or refrained from naming his favorite foods and drinks.
Such caution is far from α¢¢ι∂єитal. For artists operating under endorsement contracts and advertising regulations, even a casual mention of a brand can carry commercial implications. The issue becomes even more significant in the case of global stars like BTS and Jungkook, whose influence is so powerful that products αѕѕociated with them frequently sell out within hours.

Ironically, the immense drawing power of global superstars can also blind some businesses, leading them to exploit celebrity fame to attract attention to their own operations—sometimes through inappropriate or even unauthorized means!
Recently, кσяєαn fans expressed outrage after discovering that a food review video from the popular account matbangeeee contained private footage of Jungkook. The video included a brief moment showing the singer dining with friends at a restaurant, footage that appeared to have been extracted from the restaurant’s CCTV system. The video also explicitly stated that “BTS Jungkook” had eaten there.

According to information uncovered by fans, the restaurant featured in the review had proactively revealed that Jungkook had visited the establishment. Going even further, the business reportedly provided CCTV footage to the food reviewer for promotional purposes and to attract more customers. The restaurant in question is known as Badahaejangzip, a кσяєαn-style pocha (casual drinking establishment) specializing in seasonal sashimi and alcoholic beverages.

Instead of receiving positive publicity, however, the restaurant is now facing a severe backlash. Many fans have called for a boycott, arguing that the establishment intentionally exploited Jungkook’s image without his consent. Public criticism escalated so quickly that the account matbangeeee reportedly deleted both the post and the video related to Badahaejangzip.
This is not the first time BTS has been involved in a similar incident. Earlier this April, a restaurant in Tampa was accused of selling surveillance footage showing BTS members dining there. The footage was later used in a local news segment. Many people were ѕнσ¢кed that not only were the members’ private images disclosed, but even their restaurant bill was reportedly revealed.

From a customer service perspective, BTS and Jungkook visit restaurants as ordinary patrons and are fully entitled to privacy and a sense of security while on the premises. Surveillance cameras are installed primarily for security purposes, incident management, and property protection. Extracting footage from such systems for promotional use or sharing it with third parties runs contrary to customers’ basic expectations regarding privacy.
Many observers have pointed out that the issue extends beyond the unauthorized use of a celebrity’s image. The incident also reflects a lack of professionalism in the management and operation of a service business. If a famous customer can be secretly recorded and have their image distributed without their knowledge, then any other customer could potentially be subjected to the same treatment.
For that reason, the current wave of outrage is not limited to BTS fans alone. It also resonates with people who are concerned about consumer rights in general. Among the comments being shared are:
- Are they out of their minds? Seriously, this is so disgusting I can’t even handle it... sigh
- I was ѕнσ¢кed when I opened Insta and this popped up right away. Ugh, so annoying,, I feel like I'm gonna lose my mind
- Seriously, if they just left it alone, the fans would figure it out and come find it on their own, but promoting it in that lame way and ending on such a petty note
- I have literally zero desire to go there. Apparently, there are quite a few places like that these days?? Just let people eat their food in peace,, instances like this are exactly why everyone is turning into a chef nowadays
- Seriously, people would have gone there even if they had only posted the autograph. Why тнє нєℓℓ did they have to do all that?
- REPORTED TO HYBE AND THIS IS SHIT INVADING HIS PRIVACY. Some кσяєαns are too much really embarrαѕѕing seeing how they don’t think twice for money and clout. They don’t deserve jungkook.
- This is truly wrong behavior. Using them in advertisements is a really despicable thing to do
- WTF. They wouldn’t do that to any other customer. For the business to agree to that is absolutely insane
