A Famous Comedian Regrets Getting Angry At Jin

In the кσяєαn entertainment industry, the status of BTS as a group—and Jin in particular—is undeniable. Almost every celebrity who encounters them tends to show a respectful attitude. Moreover, the members’ humble and kind personalities are part of the reason why they are so well-loved by their peers.

However, there have been a few awkward situations where even global K-pop stars like BTS unintentionally “offended” their seniors. One such case involved comedian Park Myung Soo and Jin, and it took place around the time Jin was discharged from the military.

Park Myung Soo, one of South кσяєα’s most famous veteran comedians, is known for his candid humor and wide network in the entertainment industry. His friendship with Jin grew closer after the BTS member appeared on Park’s personal talk show during promotions for his solo single, “The Astronaut.”

Park has often expressed his admiration and affection for BTS, particularly Jin—who is loved not just for his musical talent, but also for his sincere and approachable personality. Despite this, their relationship hasn’t been without its small misunderstandings in the past.

Park Myung Soo openly shared this story on his radio program not long ago. The story not only revealed the warm, down-to-earth side of a superstar like Jin, but also reflected Park Myung Soo’s lingering regret over his previous behavior.

During an episode of Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show, a listener asked, "Is it true that you refused to go drinking with BTS's Jin?" Without avoiding the question, Park confirmed the story was true and began saying that he loves Jin, Jungkook, j-hope, and all the members of BTS.

Park then explained that he had contacted Jin first after his discharge to discuss a casting opportunity but didn’t get a response. Park admitted to being a bit disappointed and feeling somewhat ignored by his action after having previously filmed together before his enlistment.

Three days later, around 10:40 p.m., Park υиєχρє¢тє∂ly received a call from Jin. “Hyung, what are you doing?” Jin asked. He then added, “I can come out if you’re free—let’s go for a drink.”

However, Park rejected the invitation right away, saying on the phone, “I have to sleep now.” He admitted that he was still slightly upset at not receiving a reply earlier.

What made Park feel even more regretful, though, was how polite and kind Jin remained despite being turned down. Jin responded, “I can come out even at dawn, so please call me next time.” His words were sincere and respectful, no matter the situation.

That kind response made Park feel genuinely sorry. "I didn’t go out because I felt uncomfortable at the time, but I regretted it so much that I should have gone out", he confessed.

He grew emotional while speaking about Jin and concluded the story by saying, "He doesn't look like a world star, he's a very kind friend." That one kind gesture from Jin completely changed Park’s view and softened his attitude.

Jin later explained why he called so late at night: "I saw a missed call from him about a week ago, so I returned the call. Celebrities like me are often awake at 10 or 11 p.m., so I didn’t think it was late".

What seemed like a minor incident actually revealed Jin’s thoughtful and considerate character—a global star with no airs. His personality received widespread praise once again, especially considering this wasn’t the first time Park Myung Soo had treated BTS dismissively.

Back in 2022, during an episode of Hal Myungsoo, Jin humorously “exposed” how Park had been indifferent to BTS when they were rookies. Even though they met face-to-face, Park refused to take a photo and told them, “Hey, just go.”

Park has since repeatedly expressed his regret over not treating BTS better when they were still unknown. On the show, he was visibly flustered, while Jin kept a playful, light-hearted tone and showed no signs of resentment. The two wrapped up the recording warmly—even talking about scheduling a tennis match together.

Taken together, these two stories demonstrate just how gracious and respectful Jin is, even toward those who once treated him poorly. Now in his position as a global superstar, Jin’s character shines brighter than ever—making anyone who once misunderstood or slighted him feel embarrαѕѕed in hindsight.
