The appearance of Jimin at Paris Fashion Week in late September once again sent ѕнσ¢кwaves across the world. As described by the renowned magazine WWD, even though it was a womenswear show unveiling Dior’s new collection under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, Jimin “stole the show.”
Journalists and photographers kept pointing their cameras toward him, while fans screamed and chanted the superstar’s name from the moment he arrived until he left. Not only did Jimin captivate the media and fans with his stunning visuals and irresistible aura, but he also drew admiration and respect from other celebrities and fashion insiders.
One of them was Jihoon Kim, a кσяєαn beauty content creator with millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram. Currently based in Germany, she collaborates with top Western brands, offering her unique perspective on high fashion and lifestyle trends.
Jihoon Kim was among the celebrities invited by Dior to attend the Dior Spring/Summer 2026 show. As such, she had the chance to meet the global K-pop superstar — and almost snagged a legendary selfie with him, if not for an unfortunate situation!
This was soмєтнing she expressed her regret about in a lighthearted way in one of her TikTok videos titled “Life Tea.” In the video, while getting ready, Jihoon recalled the situation, saying: “At Paris Fashion Week, I saw Jimin of BTS. I asked him for a selfie and he wanted to take one because he remembered me. But his manager was like no, I was sad.”
Even so, she still managed to capture a true fangirl moment by snapping a candid photo of Jimin from a nearby spot and later shared it on her Instagram as a way to commemorate the rare opportunity.
When Jihoon Kim shared this story, fans could easily empathize with her — she seemed to be a genuine admirer of Jimin. A viral video on X shows Jihoon reacting enthusiastically, jumping in excitement and responding “yes” when a fan asked if she had seen the “WHO” singer. In some of her other TikTok clips, she captioned with hype like "The spotting fit I wore to the Dior show to spot Jimin" or "STOP WHAT IS LIFEE HE SMILED AT ME AND I BOWED AT HIM".
This incident sparked curiosity among fans about why BTS’s bodyguards and managers often prevent celebrities from taking photos with Jimin — even when those individuals are not sasaeng fans, paparazzi, or anyone who could pose a threat. Some also noticed that other well-known figures, like fashion journalist Derek Blasberg, needed to step aside when approaching the idol.
While some expressed frustration, the majority of fans pointed out that although it’s easy to sympathize with Jihoon Kim, it’s unfair to criticize HYBE or Dior’s staff for doing their jobs. Their duty is to ensure the artist’s safety and privacy.
Others added that such restrictions are necessary — if Jimin were to take spontaneous selfies, it could lead to chaotic crowd situations. Moreover, uncontrolled photos could be misused or distorted into dating rumors or other problematic narratives, whether intentional or not:
- I don't think bodyguards singled her out, May be bad timing, shows abt to start, too many people surrounding him, time to leave the show, other imp DIOR guests need to met, any no of reasons fot that misshapen, take it easy..
- While criticize hybe's management almost always, this time they actually did great. Because none of what happened could've happened w/out Dior's & Hybe's coordination. Let's have some perspective before we create drama over an influencer w/ a grudge, and/or out of boredom.
- If she attended it's because was invited, and Jimin, like all boys, they have an itinerary to follow of what they should do and with whom to interact, it's also for his safety, even though he's among celebrities, and the girl looks cute, but there are rules
- People here saying jimin can't take a stand for himself....they are A lister no one knows their rules and regulations and it's the duty of their bodyguard to protect the artist at all cost, we don't even know what exactly happened their so its not our job to discuss about privacy
- i think it’s because if he started taking selfies with anyone he’d get literally swarmed by people, i would cause chaos, harming him
- The other members only took photos with the brand director or a few veteran celebrities (but not many) before the fashion show started. Maybe she arrived at the wrong time. Her feelings can be understood, but no one here deserves to be blamed
- y’all forget most idols don’t even get asked for pics at those events.. they’re the ones asking. Celebs go to Jimin cause he’s always polite & warm. Remember at the Tiffany event when a girl said there was a line just to say hi and take
- Jimin is very kind and can't refuse to take pictures with anyone, which is why having a manager is sometimes helpful because he can't accommodate everyone.
