When fans' feelings turn into extreme excitement, they are willing to do all sorts of scary things to get close to their idols, such as being on duty 24/7 to monitor daily schedules and being ready to invade their lives. personal or even their safety. These people are popularly known as sasaeng fans and it seems that in every generation of idols, celebrities have to deal with such disgusting people.
Most recently, the incident of V being harαѕѕed by a 30-year-old female fan at his home shσcked the entertainment world. Once again, the issue of sasaeng fans has become a hot potato like never before on SNS. ARMYs also recall that this is not the only time V has faced this situation.
He has faced sasaeng fans' intrusion into his private life more than 5 times, including:
1. Chased at airport:
Surely you will not forget the haunting scene of V on April 16, 2017 at Gimpo airport. After V completed his overseas schedule and returned to kσrєα, he was chased by sasaeng fans from the moment he entered the country until he boarded a van to leave the airport.
These supposed "fans" kept screaming and chasing him while V seemed very ḟŕïġḧẗệńệď. His manager had to follow closely by his side and pull V as fast as he could to escape the pursuit of the crazy crowd. It was truly a scary and dαngєrous scene, V must have had a bad experience that day.
2. Surrounded by sasaengs on planes
One of the only times V spoke up about sasaeng fans' harαѕѕment was when he was followed on flights. V as well as the BTS members will travel many times a month because of their overseas schedules, so sasaeng fans take advantage of this to chase them on the plane.
During a live broadcast in 2019, V revealed that sasaengs will always find out BTS's flight information in some way. They got flight and seat information and then booked all the surrounding seats to surround him and the members. Not only that, while on the plane, they also acted impolitely towards him and the group, making it difficult for him to have a comfortable space.
V talked about that case: "I’m speaking for all of us. We now fly private jets but we’d actually love to fly with commercial airlines. But whenever we fly, whether short or long distance, there are people who found out where we sit in advance. They would sit in front of us or right next to us, and it made us a little uncomfortable. Well, honestly, I wish they wouldn’t do it. It scares me. Really."
3. Hunted in Chile
The next incident was not reported by V or the BTS members, but by an ARMY who recorded the scene at that time. It was during the time BTS went to Chile to attend Wings Tour 2017 and their rest time was seriously affected when sasaengs continuously chased them outside their hotel and restaurant.
Not only that, it was revealed that many fans gathered all day in front of BTS's hotel, even screaming since 9am. Meanwhile, disorder in areas where BTS appears due to too many fans gathering is also common. This affects not only the group but also those around them.
Ledyllyn Flores - the person who recorded the video said: "BTS went to a KBBQ restaurant and it is swarming with people. This video shows how much disrespect they are receiving. They literally just flew in and they have not gotten any rest because SO MANY people have not left them alone since they arrived. When BTS comes to your city, please treat them with respect. We are the ones who wish for them to have good health and plenty of rest so they can perform for us without fainting."
4. Pulled V’s hair
Well, when it comes to sasaeng fans always trying to harαѕѕ V, it's certainly impossible not to mention the act of them pulling his hair back in August. Specifically, while V was leaving the CELINE event in נαραи, a sasaeng grabbed and pulled his hair.
ARMY was shσcked and appalled at someone's audacity to do such an aggressive thing to V. Even if this fan's starting point was just wanting to touch him, this action was okay. considered disrespectful and harαѕѕing him. Not to mention, looking at the crowd of fans jostling and pushing, any action to touch V's body is potentially dαngєrous and uncomfortable for him.
Luckily, the bodyguard protected V to successfully escape the impolite crowd. But it was still a scary experience for him!
5. Followed and harrαѕѕed at his home
On October 27, 2023, a woman in her 30s was arrested after following V into an elevator at his residence. She reportedly had waited for V in his residence’s parking lot and followed him into the building. Police were able to identify her because she left behind a marriage license application with her name on it after running away.
When the news broke, V reαѕѕured fans on Weverse with a comforting and warm picture of himself: "Ehey, I’m okay~~ [cutely] don’t worry."
